What is SCP-500?

SCP-500, known by the nickname "Panacea" (Panacea), is a bottle containing small red tablets. According to the SCP Foundation file, a single tablet completely cures a patient of any illness — from an ordinary cold to late-stage cancer to conditions modern medicine cannot touch — within a few hours.

The most frightening thing is not its miraculous effect but the extremely limited supply. The bottle originally held only a few dozen tablets, and every one used means this life-saving treasure runs a little further down. No one knows how to make them.

SCP-500 is classified Object Class: Safe. In the SCP Foundation system, "Safe" does not mean the object is harmless; it means it is easy to contain and produces no anomalous effect without human intervention.
