Back to Buon Magic wandering on Lake Ea Kao

As a little-known tourist attraction, Ea Kao Lake (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak) - a familiar destination for many mountain residents - is attracting many tourists, especially on summer days.

Not as famous as Bien Ho (Gia Lai), Ea Kao Lake is an artificial freshwater lake with great irrigation value and is home to beautiful natural landscapes, fresh air and cool.

The lake is located 12km southeast of Buon Ma Thuot city, in Ea Kao commune, formed by blocking streams Ea Knin, Ea Kao, Ea Chăt, Cu Mblim ... to build irrigation works. for irrigation of rice and coffee.

According to the Ede language, Ea Kao means that the lake never runs out. In fact, in the rainy season, the water level of Ea Kao Lake sometimes rises up to the base of the irrigation dam, while in the dry season, despite the peak drought, the water level in the middle of the lake still reaches the calf.

Interestingly, although the irrigation works have been in operation since 1983, the space of Ea Kao lake still has bold wild features. Under the lake bed is a diverse ecosystem with many species of freshwater fish and shrimp.

Around the lake are mountains and hills overlapping with rich flora with forests with many ancient trees.

In the open space, the villages of the Ede people such as H'Ve, Ea Kao, Cu Mbhim, and Tong Ju ... are considered as future homestay tourism addresses.

In the early days of June, the water level on Ea Kao Lake was low, revealing soft red soil, green grass.It turns this place into an ideal destination for residents and visitors to enjoy the scenery and relax.
