Do you draw energy from your inner world or the outer world? Answer 16 Yes/No questions (about 2 minutes) to find out whether you are an introvert, an extrovert or an ambivert — along with your strengths and tips for you.
Answer honestly, going with your first instinct — there are no right or wrong answers, only the real you.
The concepts of introvert and extrovert were introduced by psychologist Carl Jung to describe how a person recharges their energy. Introverts recover when they are alone and lean toward depth; extroverts feel energized when socializing and lean toward interaction. Most of us fall somewhere between the two extremes — this is called being an ambivert.
| Trait | Introvert | Extrovert |
|---|---|---|
| Recharging energy | When alone and quiet | When among people |
| Communication | Deep, with a few close people | Broad, with many people |
| Way of thinking | Think it through, then speak | Think while speaking |
| Preferred environment | Quiet and focused | Lively, with lots of interaction |
| Strengths | Listening, depth, focus | Connecting, energy, enthusiasm |
Introverts recharge their energy when alone and lean toward depth; extroverts gain energy from interaction and lean toward socializing.
